About the FGH
Here are some facts about the long history,
the FGH is looking back on:
In 1921 the SfH served as an organ for both electric power companies and manufacturers, through the electrical committee of the VDEW (the association of power stations). The increase of efficiency and the enhanced safety of power supply were defined as the main goal.
The resetteling to Nellingen near Stuttgart in 1948, called for the temporary accommodations in the facilities of the aviation research center.
1967 saw the errection of the new building in Mannheim/ Rheinau as well as the setting up of modern high-voltage and high power test laboratories.
Merger in 1973, with the 400KV RESEARCH COMPANY, REGISTERED SOCIETY, (founded in Heidelberg in 1950) into the RESEARCH COMPANY FOR HIGH-VOLTAGE AND HIGH CURRENT TECHNOLOGY, REGISTERED SOCIETY (FGH e.v.). Concentration of technical and scientifical activities.
1999 marked the beginning of a restructurising process and the renaming into the RESEARCH COMPANY FOR ELECTRIC INSTALLATIONS AND POWER ECONOMICS, REGISTERED SOCIETY.
2000 founding of the FGH Engineering and Test GmbH, an independent test organisation under the roof of the research company.
2002 takeover by the IPH, Berlin –
number one test organisation in Germany.
2005 integration into the CESI Group, Milan –
number one test organisation worldwide.
